Giving Thanks, at Thanksgiving

With Thanksgiving just over a week away, it’s time for us at the Inter-Faith Food Cupboard to thank you, our donors, for brainstorming ways to put gratitude into action, and empathy into change.

Our food cupboard is working in full swing to ensure Montgomery County’s low-income residents can access the food they need this holiday season. Thanks to overwhelming support from our donors, this Thanksgiving we expect to provide close to 300 households with two bags of holiday food, from pie crusts and cranberry sauce to stuffing packs and yams.

We would love if you would consider donating to the food cupboard to help as many families as possible access nutritious foods, not just during the holiday season, but year round. We collected Thanksgiving-themed donations last month, so this month we’re asking for donations of any of the items listed below, including instant oatmeal packets and pantry snacks for children.

If you’d like to pick up or drop off donations, please feel free to visit our Roslyn food cupboard, housed at 1356 Easton Road, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday to Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

To learn more about getting food, volunteering with the cupboard or organizing a food drive or large delivery, please contact us at foodcupboard@fpmontco.org or give us a call at 267-318-0607. Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts—we can only continue making our mission reality with your efforts and engagement.
