29 Nov A Halloween Treat for the Food Pantry!
Every year Aidan Kaye stages a haunted house in his basement, and he requests a donation of canned goods for admission. Last month he collected a total of 548 pounds of food for us over the course of his two-hour “Moonlight Museum” haunt! Thank you to everyone who donated and helped him smash last year’s totals.
Thanksgiving is nearly here and we’re so glad to report that the response to our bundle drive has been overwhelming! We (and our clients) are so thankful for the many donors who have collected food.
In other news, we’re still recruiting volunteers for the Monday evening (5:30 to 7:30 pm) and Saturday morning (10 am to 1 pm) shifts. We’re also looking for volunteers who can come in while the pantry is closed to clean and pack food bags. Drivers are needed to transport food. And we’d love to sign up a few volunteers who are fluent in either Spanish or French. Please contact LaToya Williams, the Food Pantry Manager, at food@fpmontco.org if you’d like to help out.
Finally, if you’re able to donate this month, we’re in need of paper products, cleaning supplies, and toiletry items. (To see a list of the items we are always collecting, please visit our website.) As always, we are so grateful for your donations of time and food to help keep the pantry running and provide food for everyone in our community who needs it. Thank you!
The pantry is located at 2801 Woodland Road, Roslyn, on the campus of Salem Baptist Church.
Donations of food and other items are accepted on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm. Please ensure that all items have labels, are within the expiration date, and are properly sealed.
