We hope you’ll join us as a volunteer! Meet Jan.

When we decided to feature one of Inter-Faith’s incredible volunteers in this month’s newsletter, it didn’t take long for Jan Lattucca’s name to come up. Jan, who retired from a career in vocational rehabilitation counseling, began volunteering with Inter-Faith in early November 2015 and has been an integral part of our team, raising money and negotiating with landlords to help her clients manage resource shortages and eviction threats. She’s particularly taken with the strength of her clients—and has referred them to diaper services, food banks and other resources.

“I’m amazed at how resilient they seem to be,” she says of her clients, whose trust and successes remind Jan that what she’s doing really makes a difference.

Jan, who’s been blind since just after birth, says this holiday season she’ll continue advancing her own volunteering capacity at Inter-Faith. She says her blindness has very little influence over her volunteering efforts, especially when she’s helping an organization like Inter-Faith fulfill its “sensitive, inspiring” philosophy and working to share the light she and her husband received.

“I think both of us feel Inter-Faith is kind of a family,” she says.
