Sign up to help evaluate countywide homelessness

On January 23, from 9 p.m. to midnight, Your Way Home Montgomery County will dispatch trained volunteers to canvass for homeless individuals and families.

Point-in-time counts help local communities and the federal government plan services to address needs, measure progress in decreasing homelessness, and identify strengths and gaps in current assistance systems.

According to Your Way Home, homelessness in our county decreased by 37 percent from 2013 to 2018; still, last year’s point-in-time count found 291 people sleeping outside or in an emergency shelter or transitional housing facility.

Volunteers play an integral role in helping gauge countywide homelessness. Please consider signing up to help!
