Renovating and upgrading at Hope Gardens

Our latest graduate family left Hope Gardens several weeks ago for their new home, just as the stay at home orders were being issued. With the help of our friends at Congregation Beth Or, we’ve been preparing the apartment for new residents. We’re being careful to stay safe, but the work needs to continue. Because how can you shelter at home, if you have no home?

We’re so grateful to Beth Or for upgrading the apartment, bringing it up to par with our new “gold standard” for kitchens and bathrooms set in 2017. Shout out to Allan Posner and Nancy Shaffer-End, who donated expertise and time as project managers and, along with the congregation, donated generously to update the unit. In addition to painting, they added a tile backsplash; installed new countertops, stove, microwave, refrigerator, and garbage disposal; freshened up the cabinets; replaced closet doors; put in a new bathroom vanity and fixtures; updated the flooring and ceiling lights; and upgraded all the electrical outlets.

Thank you Congregation Beth Or for your support, especially under these difficult circumstances, in making this apartment ready for a new family to call home.
