What a start to March!

…a message from Executive Director Marsha Eichelberger

What a start to March! In like a lion, indeed. We fervently hope everyone escaped the recent storms safe and sound, with nothing more than a little inconvenience to show for it. I for one am immeasurably grateful for the hardworking PECO crews and all other municipal folks keeping us safe and getting us warm. We’ve also been getting to know more commissioners, public servants, and community leaders eager to help our new food cupboard! This outpouring of support has helped many new families find us and find the help they need.

On the subject of thanks, I’ve also been thinking about our board members lately. The Inter-Faith board is a tireless and active bunch; they do more than sit in ivory towers contemplating our work—they DO the work. They’re sleeping with families in congregations, their feet are on the ground seeking community donations and support. They direct the efforts of Inter-Faith in every way and exemplify the character and commitment we hold to ending family homelessness. Since we run almost exclusively on volunteer power, we rely on their expert guidance to keep us on constantly improving. We recently honored our incoming, outgoing, and continuing board members at a ceremony, complete with Act II performance and loads of gratitude. It’s never enough to express how wonderful they all are.

Thank you to our fabulous board and to all the volunteers that make Inter-Faith possible.
