Eloquent dream of the incredible Martin Luther King Jr

…a message from Executive Director Marsha Eichelberger

We all have dreams. This January 18th we again remembered eloquent dream of the incredible Martin Luther King Jr. and pondered how far we have come and how far we have to go. Inequality and injustice still surround us, and in many ways people have become immune to it. We are so used to hearing horrible news that we are hardly surprised at the day’s tragedies and many good people don’t know how they could possibly make a difference. But, as Dr. King said,” Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?'” I’m lucky to be surrounded by people who feel the call to do something, people who know that every small step makes a huge difference. I’m grateful for everyone, from the volunteers staying overnight in their houses of worship with our families to the kind people who bring by one bottle of dish soap they picked up at their weekly shopping. It all matters. It is all important.

We hope you know that each act of kindness and generosity helps the families in our programs realize their dreams.

Thank you.
Executive Director Marsha Eichelberger
