Changes, improvements and exciting ventures

…a message from Executive Director Marsha Eichelberger

In many ways, 2016 has been an unprecedented and exceptional year for us here at Inter-Faith, with many changes, improvements and exciting ventures. We welcomed new staff and said goodbye to families as they left our program self-sufficient and confident. We celebrated as former program participants purchased their very own homes and attained schooling and careers they never thought possible. With the generosity of First Presbyterian Church of Ambler and many other incredible donors and volunteers we were able to open our new supportive housing at Hope Forest.

Another big change comes for us in the new year as we say goodbye to outgoing board president Ron Flaherty. Ron has been on our board for six years and served as president for three. His wise, indefatigable and active leadership served us well during the executive director transition and the expansion of our program to include Hope Forest. We can honestly say the expansions and transitions of the past few years owe much of their ease to Ron’s dedication and perseverance. We thank him and wish him well as he continues as President of Univest Insurance, Inc.

We look forward to welcoming Tom Wynn as our incoming board president and know he will be just as dedicated to our mission of helping families overcome homelessness. Tom has been an active member of our board for years, even serving as chair of our property committee and a member of the golf committee. He retired from a successful business career including 32 years at the Philadelphia Stock Exchange and has been a very involved member of First Presbyterian Church of Ambler for years, including working on the endowment committee.

We look ahead to 2017 with optimism and excitement. It’s gratifying to know that Inter-Faith Housing Alliance is making a real difference both to the families we serve and in this community we love. Thanks to the continued support of people like Ron, Tom and all of you working with us we can do more good for even more people in 2017. Happy New Year!

Thank you.
