A happy and healthy holiday season

…a message from Executive Director Marsha Eichelberger

November is a time to come together and reflect on the things we are thankful for—our friends, family, homes, jobs. At Inter-Faith, it’s a time for us to thank YOU—the supporters and volunteers who are so vital to our mission. Your support is what enables us to help Montgomery County families as they work to regroup and gain the resources necessary to lift themselves out of homelessness.

This year, I am supremely grateful for the faith community that we have brought together through our work at Inter-Faith. A few weeks ago, we had a community meeting at Or Hadash in Fort Washington. This meeting brought together leaders and members of all different faiths and backgrounds in support of our mission and helping our neighbors.

This meeting was an important reminder of the importance of community. Our nation is facing a disturbing rise in hateful rhetoric and hate crimes—marked most recently by the anti-Semitic attacks at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.

At Inter-Faith, we know that by opening our community to all, we can build a strong network of support for the most vulnerable. We have much work to do to heal these wounds, but I believe Inter-Faith’s model is a shining example of how we can move forward.

I wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season.
