Saying Goodbye to Wally

When Wally Bolaji, a student at Gwynedd Mercy University, arrived at Inter-Faith in June of 2020 to start his senior internship, he wasn’t quite sure what to expect. No one—Wally least of all—knew that he would be a vital part of helping the kids at Hope Gardens navigate a year like no other.

Wally ably stepped up to manage our Learning Lab and then Summer Camp at Lei’s Place, the community resource room at Hope Gardens. Both programs were aimed to support our resident children while distance and hybrid learning were going on. We couldn’t have asked for a more creative and engaging leader for this effort. The kids loved him!

It’s hard to see him go, but Wally is more than ready to take the next step in his career.

Wally, you touched the lives of the children of Hope Gardens. With endless patience and unfailing good cheer, you helped keep them on track and learning, even in difficult circumstances. We wish you the very best!
