Holiday Shoppe at Hope Gardens

Family Promise families once again participated in Peppermint Lane, an event where children from transitional living programs shopped for holiday gifts for special adults like parents, family members, teachers, and godparents. Lei’s Place at Hope Gardens was transformed into a festive holiday shoppe, where children received help from Kyla Turbett, Communications and Engagement Coordinator, Tiffany Jones, Director of Program Services, and volunteer Suzanne McFadden, to select the perfect gifts, all provided completely free of charge.

Parents brought their children to the door but were not allowed inside to keep the gift options a surprise. Wrapping paper and gift bags were provided to complete the holiday task and ensure there was “no peeking.” It was heartwarming to watch the children pick gifts, with comments like, “My mom likes pink,” “I want to give my teacher this ornament because Christmas is her favorite holiday,” and “I think my Mimi would like this because she likes to bake cakes.”

Our heartfelt thanks to Peppermint Lane for donating the gifts!
