07 Mar Food Pantry Volunteer Is a Point of Light

We’ve got some exciting news to report! Our volunteer Nancy Stevens was honored with a Daily Point of Light award, which recognizes dedicated volunteers all over the U.S. who are making a difference in their communities.

Nancy started volunteering at the pantry during the pandemic, when volunteers were scarce, and demand for food was incredibly high. She’s been with us ever since. Nancy was asked by the folks at Points of Light what the most rewarding part of her role at Family Promise is.

“I think knowing that we’re helping to meet the most basic need. People can’t do anything else if they’re hungry,” she said.
