Reflecting on Unity at the Wissahickon Faith Community Association’s MLK Jr. Remembrance Service

The Wissahickon Faith Community Association’s MLK Jr. Remembrance Service, held on Sunday, February 2, was a heartfelt event that honored the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by bringing together community members from diverse houses of worship. The day’s events started with a solidarity walk followed by the service, hosted by Bethlehem Baptist Church and Reverend Charles W. Quann. The annual service fosters unity and reflection, celebrating the values of peace, justice, and equality.

The celebration provided an opportunity for community leaders and residents to recognize and continue Dr. King’s work, strengthening bonds and inspiring collective action towards a more inclusive society. The keynote speaker was Reverend Dr. Alyn E. Waller, Senior Pastor of Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church. Congratulations to the 2025 Award recipients: Devis Mulunda (Keeper of the Dream), Dr. Ellyn Jo Waller (Justice and Peace) , Rev. Rodney Roehner (Inter-Faith), Congresswoman Madeleine Dean (Community Service), and Dr. Wanda Lewis-Campbell (The Prophetic Voice).
