Let’s Eat!

For too many kids, summer is the hungriest time of the year, with no access to free and reduced-price meals at school.

To address this problem, Philabundance is launching Let’s Eat, a program to ensure that thousands of children will have access to fresh, healthy meals. Philabundance will distribute 2,000 meal kits per week (totaling more than 125,000 meals!) from mid-June to early August. The goal is to provide families with fresh produce and shelf-stable products to make 16 unique, nutritious, and culturally relevant recipes that allow families to cook and eat together. The meal kits will include high-quality ingredients and recipes created by local and acclaimed chefs like Rosemarie Tran (Melograno, L’anima, Fraschetta), Marc Vetri (Vetri Cucina, Vetri Foundation), and Ellen Yin (Fork, High Street). Meal kits will be distributed at 20 locations, one of which is our own Family Promise Food Pantry!

We’re grateful for our partnership with Philabundance, but it’s the donations from individuals in the community that keep us going day to day. Thank you for your generosity as we work together to ensure that everyone in our community has the food they need! If you’d like to make a donation to the pantry, here are the items we’re looking for:
