Party On!

Thank you to everyone who came out to help us celebrate our volunteers and our 40th anniversary last month! We had a great crowd on hand to tour our Hope Gardens apartment building, see our renovated Day Center, and learn a little about our history from founder Lei Barry and some other longtime supporters. Coincidentally, the date and time of the celebration, October 23 at 2 pm, was exactly the same date and time that we broke ground at Hope Gardens—28 years ago!

We also honored Marv Schwartz and his late wife Debbie with our Volunteer Achievement Award. Marv and Debbie worked tirelessly for years as coordinators of our Interfaith Hospitality Network and as liaisons for the Hope Gardens apartment sponsored by their congregation, Beth Or. We’ll forever be grateful for their service to our families.

The celebration was made possible with kind donations from Asher’s Chocolate Co., First Presbyterian Church of Ambler, Giuseppe’s of Ambler, Katrina Johnson, McCaffrey’s Food Markets, The R.O.S.E. Foundation, Simply Cake’d, Tparties by T, Wegmans, and Sally Williams. Many thanks go out to our planning committee: Lei Barry, Debbie Beardsley, Shelia Carter, Beth de Wet, Madison Gindea, and Sally Williams.

With your support, we’ve accomplished so much in the past 40 years, with hundreds of families housed and thousands of people getting the food they need. And with your support, we’ll continue this work for 40 years more.
