06 Nov Strawberry Lemonade and Smiles
Take a look at this picture of S., age 8, and W., age 5. On a sunny Saturday morning, these two brothers decided they wanted to help others. With a folding table, a pitcher of their favorite strawberry lemonade, and handwritten signs, they set up their very own neighborhood lemonade stand.
Neighbors stopped by for a cool drink, but what truly warmed everyone’s hearts was the boys’ mission: money raised would go to a nonprofit organization helping families experiencing homelessness and hunger. Word spread quickly, and soon the stand was buzzing with support. Some people gave extra, others shared words of encouragement, and everyone left with a smile.
By the end of the day, S. and W. had raised $50 to give to Family Promise. Their simple idea became a powerful reminder that kindness starts small, but its impact can be huge.
