2021 Impact Report

2021 was a year of re-invention at Inter-Faith Housing Alliance. We instituted new procedures to safely provide emergency shelter. Created new supports for our families to help them through the pandemic. And engaged our volunteers in new ways.

Our Executive Director, Marsha Eichelberger, has the details.

The Interfaith Hospitality Network, our emergency shelter, looked a little different in 2021. Families had less personal contact with staff and volunteers, but no shortage of support. And as always, these families in crisis picked up the pieces and worked hard to take the next step: securing a permanent, stable home.

Here’s how Tom and Lorraine did just that.

At Hope Gardens, our transitional housing program, ten families continued their journeys on the road to independence. They celebrated successes and got back up after failures.

Mary’s family was one.

And at Hope Forest, our permanent supportive housing program, Jocelyn was able to get to a place where she could not only thrive, but also give back to others who had been in her shoes.

This is her story.

Our community resource room at Hope Gardens, Lei’s Place, hosted a learning lab and summer camp to support the kids of Hope Gardens as they navigated this pandemic year. Wally, our intern from Gwynedd Mercy University, headed up both projects.

Here’s the year-end wrap up.

At the Food Cupboard, donors gave 176,133 pounds of food to provide what their neighbors needed to get through the pandemic. The cupboard served 2,176 individuals in 2021.

Suraya was a frequent visitor.

We started a rental assistance program for households that had been affected by the pandemic.

It made a difference.

We didn’t do all of this alone. 641 volunteers, working in person and remotely, provided 9,237 hours of their time to support the families in housing programs and at the Food Cupboard.

Thank you!

Volunteers cooked, cleaned, painted, landscaped, mentored, repaired, and so much more.

Dave and Nancy spent a lot of time at Hope Gardens.

Here’s why.

We relied on the community for financial support, too…and you didn’t disappoint.

Our annual golf tournament sold out before we even had a chance to send invitations!

Your generosity has had a real impact. Here are the numbers.

It’s community support that has gotten us–and the families we serve–through the past year, and we’re very grateful.

We’re looking back on the impact we had in 2021, but we’re looking ahead to 2022, too. And we’ve got some big news!
