You Make Hope and Resilience Possible

You are the reason that hope and resilience remain strong at Family Promise. Because of your partnership, families facing homelessness and hunger have somewhere to turn, even as local nonprofits are faced with the need to cut services and lay off staff.

In times of uncertainty, one truth stands out: hope and resilience are stronger when shared. Every day, we hold tight to this message, and your support ensures it remains a guiding light. See the real difference in our 2024 - 2025 Impact Report.

While many organizations have had to make heartbreaking decisions, we have remained steadfast. Why? Because of you. Your generosity empowers us to provide critical programs for families experiencing homelessness, even when challenges arise.

Our careful fiscal oversight and diversified funding streams help sustain our mission. But resilience is not about avoiding hardship. It is about being transformed by it. Every challenge becomes an opportunity to reaffirm our values, lean into compassion, and build lasting change.

As we enter this season of gratitude and giving, from Thanksgiving through the holidays, your support will continue to uplift families, restore dignity, and bring joy where it is needed most.

Here are ways that you can help:

Making Memories that Matter

Earlier this month, one of the young girls in our emergency shelter program, D., celebrated her 10th birthday. Thanks to the incredible teamwork and compassion of staff and volunteers, it was a day filled with joy.

When D. returned home from school, Family Promise staff surprised her with a gift and card. Later that evening, a birthday cake and candles were delivered to the host congregation, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, so that all the families and dinner volunteers could join in the celebration. St. Mary’s also provided festive birthday balloons to make the evening extra special.

Moments like these remind us that every act of kindness matters. Together, we create not just shelter, but memories that bring hope and joy.

Bob's Discount Furniture Joins in Giving Back

We are thrilled to share some exciting news! Bob’s Discount Furniture is partnering with Family Promise to make a big difference for families experiencing homelessness and hunger. Now through December 31, 2025, Bob’s will donate $5 from every Little Bob Plushie sold in participating stores to support our mission.

These adorable plushies are more than just a cuddly companion. They represent hope, compassion, and the power of community. Every purchase helps provide shelter, meals, and critical resources to families working toward stability.

Want to join in? Visit a participating Bob’s Discount Furniture store, pick up your Little Bob Plushie, and know that your gift is making an impact.

New Partnership Coming Soon

Shake Shack is opening on Wednesday, October 29, in Abington at the Noble Town Center, at 901 Old York Road. Our partnership with them makes this opening even more special because for every sandwich sold on opening day, $1 will be donated to Family Promise. Watch for our posts on Facebook and Instagram to learn more about this collaboration and how you can be part of the excitement.

Strawberry Lemonade and Smiles

Take a look at this picture of S., age 8, and W., age 5. On a sunny Saturday morning, these two brothers decided they wanted to help others. With a folding table, a pitcher of their favorite strawberry lemonade, and handwritten signs, they set up their very own neighborhood lemonade stand.

Neighbors stopped by for a cool drink, but what truly warmed everyone’s hearts was the boys’ mission: money raised would go to a nonprofit organization helping families experiencing homelessness and hunger. Word spread quickly, and soon the stand was buzzing with support. Some people gave extra, others shared words of encouragement, and everyone left with a smile.

By the end of the day, S. and W. had raised $50 to give to Family Promise. Their simple idea became a powerful reminder that kindness starts small, but its impact can be huge.

A Day of Service at the Food Pantry

We are so grateful to the incredible team of volunteers from Ambler Savings Bank who chose Family Promise as their Day of Service location. These dedicated volunteers came to our food pantry and gave their time and energy to clean the entire space, including shelves, refrigeration units, and floors. Keeping the pantry clean and ensuring that food is safe is an essential part of our operations. Thank you, Ambler Savings Bank team. Your support helps us serve our community.
